Professional Biography
Mario Reyes is an Entomology PhD student in the Gonthier Lab at the University of Kentucky. He graduated from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de Honduras with a BSc in biology in 2022. While a student at UNAH he got involved in projects related to productive landscape in southern and eastern Honduras and several bird projects with national NGO’s. Since graduating, he has worked as an independent consultant on development projects as an environmental impact assessor, as well as a field biologist managing bird strike hazards at two airports in Honduras. On the other hand, he has experience as a farmer, cultivating lemons and passion fruit in his home country.
Mario is interested in seeing how natural predators behave under the protective netting in organic vegetable production with the Gonthier lab.
